Collection: Turquoise Mountain

The Turquoise Mountain mine, located in the Mineral Park Mining District near Kingman, Arizona, is a legendary source revered by collectors and jewelers for its highly distinctive, diverse gemstones. Though geographically part of the larger Kingman mining operation, Turquoise Mountain is treated as a standalone "classic" mine due to its unique aesthetic profile. The mine's output spans a brilliant color spectrum from pale sky blues to striking lime greens. These tones are frequently accented by intricate golden, rust-colored, or brown spiderweb matrices. The site is particularly famous for its rare "birdseye" pattern, where small pools of light-blue turquoise are encircled by darker blue matrix lines. Originally worked by Native Americans centuries ago, commercial operations boomed in the 1960s and 1970s under the Colbaugh family. After a long period of closure, modern excavation has resumed. Today, it yields a highly collectible, smoother-polishing stone that remains a staple in Native American and southwestern jewelry design.
