Collection: The Little Blue Bell Mine

The Little Blue Bell mine is a historic turquoise claim located in the famous Cerrillos Hills State Park mining district, situated just south of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Originally operated between 1895 and 1912 as part of the American Turquoise Mines company, this private claim remains celebrated for producing some of the finest, high-grade blue turquoise in the entire region. Because Cerrillos turquoise uniquely forms at the base of an ancient, mineral-rich volcano, the stones from this district display an exceptional range of colors. Rough material pulled from the Little Blue Bell veins is meticulously sorted from tailing piles, sawed, and shaped into smooth cabochons. Today, the active claim is managed by owners who continue to hand-mine the site.
